Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for playing detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. Her roles include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a housewife. Her childhood was spent within a household that included four brothers. Though she had a goal of becoming journalist, it was not until her high school years when Delaney started modeling. When she moved away from New York City and gaining experience as a commercial model at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. The role she was given was that of a child's innocence in the soap-opera All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of television shows, films and dramas after that. Her personal life unlike her professional has not been successful and happy. This actress who's skilled and beautiful, has battled drinking prior to that. Her marriages have also failed twice. In 2005, she was denied custody of the sole child she had.
