Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. This was when she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the year, her music was played throughout Dreamville. On December 8 it was confirmed that she had been contracted to Dreamville Records. In the album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video then released in September. Then, in November, she released two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013 she released No One, and Pedigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February 2019 for her debut album the same title. It was released with the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube within one week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
