She is a singer as well as a designer, and music innovator. She was an Mexican American artist that was modern and traditional. She brought together both worlds and brought Tejano music into mainstream culture. The sudden loss of her life which shattered her rising image. This is what happens to a great many celebrities who pass away too early. To stop her achievements from becoming forgotten her many admirers over the past times have been motivated to go further. Selena's tragic murder by a gunman caused an outpouring of emotion in Latino communities, similar the way people reacted following the death of Elvis Presley and John Lennon's. Selena is a hugely popular Latino artist throughout North America, Selena's music has touched many lives throughout the world. Selena may have been hailed by some as the Latina Madonna, however she's still an excellent example to follow. Selena's family values off stage and her participation in AIDS awareness programs make her a good example.
